Black Friday 2026: The Best HomeKit & Matter Deals to Watch (EU)
Black Friday 2026 is on 27 November. Here are the HomeKit and Matter products worth watching for Apple Home users in Europe, from Eve plugs and Nuki locks to Thread sensors, cameras, radiator valves and robot vacuums, with honest hub notes and tips for telling a real deal from an inflated list price. We'll add verified deals during Black Friday week.
Black Friday is the one week of the year when smart home gear that rarely gets discounted, like Eve, Nuki or Roborock, sometimes does. It is also the week when a lot of "deals" are nothing of the sort. This page is our shortlist for Apple Home users in Europe: the HomeKit and Matter products we would actually buy if they drop in price, category by category, with honest notes on which hub each one needs. There are no prices or discounts on this page yet, on purpose. We'd rather tell you what is worth watching now, and add deals once we have checked them.
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday follows on Monday 30 November. In practice, Amazon and many European retailers start their Black Friday sales several days before the Friday itself, and some offers run until Cyber Monday. That gives you time to compare, so there is no need to buy the first thing that turns red.
This page is updated during Black Friday week
We publish this guide early so you can plan. During Black Friday week we will add verified deals on the products below: offers where we have checked the price history and the deal is a genuine low, not a raised list price. If a product isn't discounted, we will say so rather than invent a deal. The product boxes always show the current price where one is available, so you can check any pick yourself at any time.
How we picked
We started from the products in our catalog that are sold in several European Amazon stores and work with Apple Home, either natively through HomeKit or through Matter. Then we kept the ones we would recommend at full price, because a discount on something you'll regret isn't a deal:
- Really works in the Home app. Native HomeKit or certified Matter, no Homebridge or Shortcuts workarounds.
- Honest about hubs. For each pick we say whether you need a HomePod or Apple TV, a Thread border router or a manufacturer bridge.
- Built for Europe. Schuko plugs, euro profile cylinders, M30 radiator valves, 230 V fittings.
- Brands that tend to appear in sales. Eve, Nuki, Aqara, Philips Hue, Nanoleaf, Shelly, Roborock and Tapo all have a history of seasonal promotions in EU stores, though nothing is guaranteed.
Smart lights
Philips Hue White & Colour Ambiance E27
If you want a lighting system rather than a few bulbs, Hue is still the one to beat: around 1,100 lumens, warm to cool white from 2000 to 6500 K, full colour and very smooth dimming at the low end. Hue bulbs and starter kits are among the most frequently discounted smart home products, which makes Black Friday a good moment to stock up.
Hub note: for Apple Home you need a Hue Bridge. The bulb's Bluetooth mode only works with the Hue app and does not put it in the Home app. With the Bridge, every Hue light shows up in Apple Home with Siri, scenes and Adaptive Lighting. If you don't own a Bridge yet, a starter kit that includes one is usually better value than buying the parts separately.
Nanoleaf Essentials Matter GU10
Nanoleaf's Essentials Matter bulbs connect over Thread: no Nanoleaf hub, no Wi-Fi password, near-instant response, and every bulb strengthens your Thread mesh. This GU10 version is a 230 V spot with up to 400 lumens, tunable white and colour. Kitchens and hallways full of GU10 downlights are where multipacks on sale make the biggest difference.
Hub note: needs a Thread border router and home hub (HomePod mini, HomePod 2nd generation or later, or an Apple TV 4K with Thread). Check you have true 230 V GU10 fittings, not low-voltage GU5.3.
Smart plugs
Eve Energy (2-pack)
Our long-standing top pick for Apple Home: Thread, energy monitoring, schedules stored on the plug, and it works as a Thread router for battery sensors elsewhere in the house. It is rarely the cheapest plug, so a Black Friday price on the 2-pack is exactly the kind of deal worth waiting for. It can also be upgraded to Matter in the Eve app if you want to share it with other platforms later.
Hub note: needs a Thread border router (HomePod mini, HomePod or Apple TV 4K with Thread). The housing is fairly large, so two side by side on a power strip can be tight.
Shelly Plug S Gen3
A compact, Matter-certified Wi-Fi plug from a European brand, with power measurement and fully local control. It pairs to Apple Home through Matter and can be used with Shelly's local web interface or Home Assistant at the same time. The listing here is a black 2-pack.
Hub note: Matter accessories need a home hub in Apple Home. It's rated at 12 A, which is fine for lamps, TVs and computers but not for a kettle or a large heater.
Smart switches
Aqara Light Switch H2 EU
Smart bulbs stop working when someone flips the wall switch. A smart switch avoids that, and the H2 EU is one of the few that joins Apple Home directly via Matter over Thread. It fits standard 55 mm European frames and Aqara sells it for installations with or without a neutral wire. This listing is the one-channel version with two buttons.
Hub note: in Thread mode it needs a Thread border router and home hub, no Aqara hub. Without a neutral wire you lose some features, including power monitoring and Thread routing, and the extra button functions are richer in Zigbee mode with an Aqara hub. Wall switches should be installed by a qualified electrician.
Sensors
Eve Door & Window (Matter)
A small, reliable contact sensor that is the basis of many useful automations: turn the heating down when a window opens, get a notification when the front door opens while you're away, switch on the hallway light at night. Eve's sensors run on Thread and are well integrated with Eve Thermo, which can react to an open window.
Hub note: needs a Thread border router and home hub. Contact sensors are cheap enough individually that a Black Friday multi-buy is the time to cover every outside door.
Aqara Presence Multi-Sensor FP300
Classic motion sensors switch the lights off when you sit still. The FP300 combines mmWave radar with PIR, so it can tell when someone is still in the room, and adds light, temperature and humidity sensors. It runs on batteries, so you can mount it anywhere. In Thread mode it joins Apple Home directly through Matter, with no Aqara hub.
Hub note: needs a Thread border router and home hub for automations. Aqara recommends setting it up in the Aqara Home app first: added straight from the code on the device, only basic functions are available, and some fine-tuning (like radar sensitivity) isn't exposed in Apple Home.
Smart locks
Nuki Smart Lock Pro (5th generation)
Our top lock for European doors. It retrofits on the inside over your existing euro profile cylinder, so your keys and the outside of the door stay as they are. It joins Apple Home via Matter over Thread without a Nuki Bridge, has a fast, quiet motor, a rechargeable battery and built-in Wi-Fi for the Nuki app. Locks are a big-ticket buy, so this is one where a genuine discount really counts.
Hub note: needs a Thread border router and home hub. Check your cylinder has an emergency (override) function before buying.
Aqara Smart Lock U200 Lite
The simplest Thread lock for a European door. Like the Nuki, it fits over your existing cylinder on the inside, connects via Matter over Thread and Bluetooth, and has a rechargeable battery, auto-lock and NFC sticker unlocking. The "Lite" trade-off: no keypad, fingerprint reader or Apple Home Key.
Hub note: needs a Thread border router and home hub, no Aqara hub. Check the fitting requirements, especially how far your cylinder sticks out on the inside.
Cameras
Eve Cam
An indoor camera made for Apple only: it works exclusively with HomeKit Secure Video, so recordings are analysed on your home hub and stored end-to-end encrypted in iCloud, with no Eve account and no extra subscription. Full HD, 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, two-way audio and night vision.
Hub note: HomeKit Secure Video needs a home hub (HomePod or Apple TV) and an iCloud+ plan. It doesn't work with Google or Alexa.
Aqara Camera G100
A small, inexpensive 2K camera that pairs directly with Apple Home as a native HomeKit camera, supports HomeKit Secure Video and is IP65-rated, so it can go indoors or outdoors. It also offers microSD recording and colour night vision with a spotlight, managed in the Aqara app.
Hub note: no Aqara hub needed, but HomeKit Secure Video needs a home hub and an iCloud+ plan, and HomeKit records at up to 1080p. It uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, and Aqara doesn't include a power adapter in the box.
Heating
Eve Thermo (Matter, 5th generation)
Smart radiator valves are where a Black Friday purchase can pay for itself over the winter. The fifth-generation Eve Thermo is more compact than before, runs on two AA batteries, fits M30 × 1.5 valves with Danfoss adapters in the box, and stores its schedules on the device, so heating keeps running even without internet. It works with Eve Door & Window to turn the heating down when you air a room.
Hub note: needs a Thread border router and Matter-capable home hub. Before you buy several, check that your radiator valves are M30 × 1.5 or covered by the included adapters.
Robot vacuums
Since iOS 18.4, Apple Home can control robot vacuums through Matter. In the Home app you get the basics: start and stop, vacuum or mop mode and, depending on the model, room selection, plus automations such as "clean when everyone leaves". Mapping, no-go zones and fine settings stay in the manufacturer's app.
Roborock Saros 10
Roborock's flagship mopping robot with a self-cleaning, self-emptying dock and a retractable LiDAR that lets it get under low furniture. Roborock added Matter support for the Saros 10 with a firmware update in 2025, so it can be added to Apple Home through the Roborock app's Matter setup. Premium robot vacuums often see large Black Friday reductions from very high list prices, so this is one to check against its price history.
Hub note: Matter over Wi-Fi. Update the firmware first, and use a home hub for automations and remote control.
Tapo RV30 Max Plus
If you want a robot vacuum in Apple Home without a flagship budget, TP-Link's Tapo RV30 Max Plus has LiDAR navigation, mopping and an auto-empty station, and TP-Link lists Apple Home among its supported Matter platforms. Pairing works with a Matter code from the Tapo app.
Hub note: Matter over Wi-Fi with a home hub. TP-Link says Matter on its vacuums works through the TP-Link cloud, so it needs an internet connection to work with Apple Home.
How to spot a real Black Friday deal
Smart home products are discounted for real on Black Friday, but not every red price tag means a lower price. A few habits help:
- Check the price history. A price tracker that follows Amazon prices (such as Keepa or CamelCamelCamel, both of which cover amazon.de and other EU Amazon stores) shows what a product has actually cost over the last months. If the "deal" price matches what it cost in September, it isn't a Black Friday deal.
- Ignore inflated list prices. "Up to 50 % off" against a recommended retail price that nobody charges says very little. Compare against the price the product actually sold for in recent weeks.
- Use the EU 30-day rule. Under EU consumer rules, a retailer announcing a price reduction must show the lowest price it charged in the previous 30 days as the reference price. If that reference price is close to the deal price, the saving is small.
- Check the exact variant. Smart home products come as singles, 2-packs, starter kits and in different fittings (E27 or GU10), plug types or colours. A low price is sometimes on a different pack size or an older generation.
- Check who sells it. "Sold by Amazon" or the manufacturer's own store is the safest bet for returns and warranty.
- Look at the price per unit. A 4-pack deal can be worse than two 2-packs.
Before you buy: Matter, HomeKit, Thread and hubs
Matter vs native HomeKit
Native HomeKit devices talk to Apple Home directly. Matter devices work with Apple Home and Google, Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant, and can be shared across several platforms at once. In the Home app both feel the same, although Matter devices sometimes expose fewer features there than in their own app. Apple Home needs a home hub to add Matter accessories.
Thread border routers and home hubs
Thread is a low-power mesh network for smart home devices. In Apple homes, the Thread border router is a HomePod mini, a HomePod (2nd generation or later) or an Apple TV 4K with Thread; the Wi-Fi-only 64 GB Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) has no Thread radio. The same device is your home hub, which handles automations and remote access. If you don't own one yet, a HomePod mini or Apple TV 4K is arguably the most important Black Friday purchase for an Apple smart home: most picks on this page need one.
Manufacturer bridges
Some products still need their own hub: Philips Hue needs a Hue Bridge for Apple Home, and many Aqara and SwitchBot Zigbee or Bluetooth devices reach Apple Home through an Aqara or SwitchBot hub. Factor that into the price of a "deal".
EU plugs and fittings
Most of continental Europe uses Type F (Schuko) sockets; France and Belgium use Type E, and many plugs use an E/F hybrid design. Switzerland and the UK need their own models. Bulbs come as E27, E14 and GU10, radiator valves usually as M30 × 1.5, and smart locks for European doors fit over a euro profile cylinder. Always check the variant before ordering.

Our advice
Make a short list now and check prices for a few weeks before Black Friday, so you know a real low when you see one. If you don't have a HomePod or Apple TV with Thread yet, start there. After that, the best-value Black Friday buys for Apple Home are usually the ones you need several of, like Eve Energy plugs, Nanoleaf or Hue bulbs, Eve Door & Window sensors and Eve Thermo valves, plus one big-ticket item you have been waiting for, such as the Nuki Smart Lock Pro or a Roborock robot vacuum. We'll add verified deals to this page during Black Friday week.
Frequently asked questions
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. Amazon and many European retailers usually start their Black Friday sales several days before the Friday, and some offers run until Cyber Monday.
Are Black Friday smart home deals real?
Many are, especially on brands that are rarely discounted the rest of the year. But some 'deals' compare against an inflated list price, or match a price the product already had a few weeks earlier. Check the price history with a price tracker, look at the lowest price of the previous 30 days that EU retailers have to show when they advertise a reduction, and make sure you are comparing the same pack size and generation.
Should I buy Thread or Wi-Fi smart home devices?
For Apple Home, Thread is usually the better choice for sensors, plugs, locks, bulbs and radiator valves: it uses little power, responds quickly, doesn't crowd your Wi-Fi and gets stronger with every mains-powered Thread device. Wi-Fi makes sense for devices that move a lot of data, like cameras and robot vacuums, or when you don't have a Thread border router.
Do I need a hub for HomeKit and Matter devices?
For most products on this page, yes: a home hub. In Apple homes that's a HomePod mini, a HomePod (2nd generation or later) or an Apple TV 4K with Thread, which also acts as the Thread border router. Apple Home needs a home hub to add Matter accessories and for automations and remote access. Some brands also need their own bridge, such as the Hue Bridge for Philips Hue.
What is the difference between Matter and HomeKit?
HomeKit is Apple's own smart home standard; Matter is an industry standard supported by Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung and others. Matter devices appear in the Home app just like HomeKit devices, and can also be shared with other platforms at the same time. Some features may only be available in the manufacturer's app.
Do robot vacuums work with Apple Home?
Yes, through Matter, since iOS 18.4. Supported models, including the Roborock Saros 10 and Tapo RV30 Max Plus, can be started and stopped, switched between vacuum and mop modes and used in automations from the Home app. Mapping and detailed settings stay in the manufacturer's app, and you may need a firmware update first.
Will this page list Black Friday prices?
During Black Friday week we'll add verified deals on the products in this guide, after checking each one against its price history. We don't list prices in the article itself because they change too often; the product boxes show the current price where one is available.
