tink Basics radiator thermostat joins Matter over Thread
tink Basics' new radiator thermostat uses Matter over Thread for Apple Home and other platforms, with schedules, open-window detection and no brand app.
tink has added a tink Basics smart radiator thermostat that connects over Matter over Thread. Once paired, it works in Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings without a separate manufacturer app. A Thread Border Router is required, such as a HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K or another compatible speaker or hub.
The thermostat screws onto standard M30 × 1.5 mm valves. Danfoss RA, RAV and RAVL adapters, a fixing screw and two AA batteries are included. tink rates the batteries at about two years and lists the unit for indoor use (IP20). Features include day or week schedules with automatic clock change, holiday mode, open-window detection from a sudden temperature drop, frost protection, a child lock and an anti-calcification routine that moves the valve periodically. You can control it from the platform app, by voice or with the buttons on the device.
It is sold as a single unit, in 3-packs and 6-packs, and in sets that add tink Basics Matter over Thread door and window sensors for faster open-window automations. tink announced the thermostat on its blog on 3 November 2026.
