Hama launches a Matter outdoor LED light string
Hama's new 10 m RGBIC light string for gardens and balconies joins Apple Home and other Matter platforms over Wi-Fi, without a hub.
Hama has added a smart LED light string with Matter (item no. 176689) to its smart home range. It is 10 m long with 100 LEDs spaced 9 cm apart, and its RGBIC chip lets you split the string into segments that each show their own colour, with gradients, blinking or chase effects. The Hama Home app offers 44 ready-made scenes or your own designs, plus timers and geofencing.
The string connects directly to your router over Wi-Fi, so no hub is needed. You add it to a Matter platform by scanning its QR code, and Hama names Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and Home Assistant as compatible. Voice control works with Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant. Hama says app data is stored only on German servers.
The light string itself is rated IP65, the controller IP44 and the USB plug IP20. It runs on 5 V from a USB-A port, and Hama lists only the string, controller and paperwork in the box, so you need your own USB power supply. Hama announced it on October 27, 2026, and it is listed in Hama's German online shop.
