Aqara Outdoor Plug H2 EU adds Matter over Thread outdoors
Aqara's new Outdoor Plug H2 EU is an IP44 smart plug for gardens and balconies that runs either as a Matter-over-Thread device or as a Zigbee device on an Aqara hub, with energy monitoring.
Aqara has introduced the Outdoor Plug H2 EU (model SP-P06E), an IP44-rated smart plug with an EU socket for gardens, patios and balconies. It is rated for 16 A and up to 3680 W, works from -20 °C to 50 °C and includes energy monitoring with daily and monthly charts, power-based automation triggers, a child lock and overload and overheat protection. A charging-protection mode switches the plug off once a connected device has drawn less than 3 W for 30 minutes.
The plug has Thread, Zigbee and Bluetooth radios, and you can switch between two modes. In Thread mode it works as a native Matter device without an Aqara hub, so it can be added to Apple Home and other Matter platforms through a Thread-capable Matter controller. In Zigbee mode it pairs with an Aqara hub and reaches Matter platforms through the hub's Matter bridge, and it stays compatible with older Aqara Zigbee hubs. Aqara notes that the status LED can only be configured in Zigbee mode for now, with Thread support promised in a later update.
Aqara announced the plug on 20 October 2026 and lists it on its EU website as an EU-specific model. The announcement does not give release dates for individual European countries.
